I get the exact same thing on my new Gateway Core i7, X58 chipset 64 bit Win7. One other thought to try involves running SFC /SCANNOW from an elevated CMD prompt. The Netbook Remix may not exercise all of the functionality of all of the devices the same way that Windows does. as I've written before with ubuntu netbook remix the pc works very well, the problem of restarting appear only in windows 7, so I don't think there is a physical hardware problem If the system has multiple RAM chips, it seems you could at least attempt to isolate them. I cannot eliminate hardware because the PC is a Toshiba Netbook In the interest of trying to get some indication as to what step in the initial setup / configuration process this occurs, I'd suggest not installing the updated drivers.
